Discussion about livable wages continues today

You may have seen announcements about the ChangeScale Summer Dialogue Series focusing on job quality and pay equity in environmental education (EE). These lunchtime conversations have been a great way to meet new colleagues and discuss what it's like working in EE.

The first of two conversations with independent contractors about livable wages in environmental education occurred on August 15. Registration was strong and dedicated professionals showed up to engage in conversation.

Those in attendance shared thoughts and experiences around the following topics:

  • Challenges associated with being an independent contractor in EE.

  • Fair pay and equity

  • What nonprofits/organizations look for in an independent contractor

  • Marketing

  • Advocating for a livable wage in the San Francisco Bay Area.

What are your thoughts about these topics?

What experiences have you had working independently?

The second session for independent contractors will occur on Thursday, August 24, 2023, from 12-1 PM (Pacific). Click on the button below to register for this session and the conversation about changing the status quo in environmental education.
